Employee of the Quarter Winner

You voted and we counted.  The envelope please... and the winner for the employee of the quarter goes to Employee B, better known as Patrick H.

This seasoned staff member impresses people not only in his home department but also in the program where he regularly subs.  He frequently saves the day in both programs by dropping his schedule and driving anywhere needed around North County, often times at the last minute.  He provides whatever direct service is needed based on each person’s individual situation, and has done it all … from attending sporting events to providing personal care to assisting with wedding planning.  He certainly has mastered the knack of switching hats, and is very much appreciated by all those he interacts with on a daily basis.

And for your extra effort and initiative you will receive the coveted front row parking and two movie passes!

Wine Tasting Fundraiser at Carruth Cellars

We're excited to announce a Wine Tasting Fundraiser at Carruth Cellars, a working, boutique urban winery in the heart of San Diego's famed Cedros Design District. Not only are they opening their doors to the public for the first time this weekend but they have graciously offered to donate 25% of their wine sales on Sunday Sept. 12th from 1pm - 7pm to raise money for CIS's annual holiday party.  Come and enjoy hand-crafted, awarding winning wines, a local artist gallery and a bunch of great people making some great wines. Thanks Carruth Cellars!!!

Wine tasting is open from 1pm - 7pm on Sunday Sept. 12 for $12.

Mas Fina Cantina Golf Tournament Charity

The Mas Fina Cantina in Carlsbad is holding their annual Golf Tournament of Champions Charity Event on October 2nd.  It's sure to be a swinging good time with beverages, a buffet, t-shirts and prizes. Spaces fill up quickly so mozy on down to the cantina and sign up fast!  While you're there be sure to sample their tasty and eclectic menu.  All proceeds go to Community Interface Services.  Download the flier with all the details here.

Have some old electronic laying around? We have partnered with Gazelle to bring you an easy way to make a donation to our Annual Holiday Party. Anything from cell phones to laptops to cameras can be accepted. Fully 100% of the donation goes towards our event and will benefit many people with disabilities in our community.

Congratulations Myesha!
Myesha A. continues to "wow" her supervisors and gets regular compliments from her coworkers for helping them out. No matter what time of day or what part of the county, Myesha is ready and willing. We appreciate all your efforts.

Our next Rummage Sale Fundraiser for the Annual Holiday Party is just around the corner.
