Community
Interface Services (CIS), established in 1983, is a nonprofit
organization which provides training services, support, and advocacy
for adults with developmental disabilities. Community Interface
is committed to providing high quality, community based services
which emphasize improvement in the quality of individuals' lives
through maximizing independence and community inclusion.

Supports
are individualized and unique to each person and are available
throughout San Diego County.
Examples include: |

Vocational
and community based day program services with a vocational,
volunteer, or community involvement focus, based on individual preference
|
|
Supported
employment services including
job development, placement, and coaching services to assist individuals
in obtaining meaningful community employment |
|
Community
living services which provide
training and support to assist individuals to live as independently
as possible in their own homes, apartments, etc.
Services include parenting skills training for parents or expecting
parents; advocacy services and self-advocacy training; mobility
and destination training and other, individualized support services
as determined by the individual's planning team. |

In-home respite services which provide
support and relief for caregivers who are caring for a family member with a developmental disability. The service provides individualized supervision, companionship, and care to children age 3 or older or to adults. |
