Position Details
Resource Counselor - Career & Community Exploration
Resource Counselors in CCE coach a small group of people with intellectual/developmental disabilities to become fully involved in the community. Assist in following a busy schedule volunteering in the community while also working with each person individually on their goals towards independence. Spend each day teaching community skills like safety, social interactions, communication, job readiness and maintenance. Also participate in recreational activities - have fun while making a difference!
A day on the job might look something like this: Pick up 3 participants from their homes. As a group go to volunteer sites at a local elementary school and community center to do light cleaning and office work. Enjoy lunch with the group at a neighborhood park. You end the day supporting participants with their individual objectives at the library. Drop the everyone off back at their homes. Each group follows a unique schedule tailored to the preferences and needs of the participants.
Schedules are usually Monday through Friday set daytime hours, no nights or weekends. Starting pay rate is $20.00 to $22.00/hour and additional compensation of $300+/month for transportation reimbursement provided as well.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in helping others, relevant experience or education, a vehicle in good working condition that can seat 4-5 comfortably, a safe driving record and a reliable work history. CA Driver's License, Auto Insurance, Fingerprinting, and Background Check required upon hire.
